Holly Frean: Full House
Past exhibition
-
Overview
Holly Frean has never met a crowd she didn’t want to paint. In this exhibition, packs of hounds jostle for attention, walls of dog portraits stare back with curious eyes, and even a chorus line of colourful bottoms takes a bow. With her trademark humour and bold, instinctive brushwork, Frean transforms combination into celebration, giving each subject—whether shaggy, waggy, or cheekily turned away—a personality of its own. These works are lively, mischievous, and full of affection, reminding us that art is here to be enjoyed!
