Ella Freire

"I have always had a bit of an obsession with all things tickets and luggage labels." 

Ella began screenprinting 12 years ago, beginning with bus tickets – routes 14 and 22 which were her journeys to work back in the day. 

Over several years she amassed a private collection of train tickets and luggage labels (including Pan Am tags) – storing them in a drawer waiting for the time to come to do something with them. 2021 was the time.

Fuelled by the desire to travel again post-COVID, Ella made a small collection of luggage tags for a pop-up event – the destinations are all places she hoped to travel to once again.

Her works reflect the styles and colours of the original Pan Am luggage tags from the 1960’s and 1970’s – the golden age of travel.
